(back catalog) SOME DAYS

by Joe Normal

/

about

This is a back catalog release.

A bit of melancholic sunny / rainy day acoustic pop, the original vision for SOME DAYS was to produce it with my band and have it sound somewhere between XTC's 'Mayor of Simpleton' and Oasis' 'Going Nowhere'. A jangly, bouncy electric 12 string kind of thing. I never got to realize that vision with a band, but may get around to it "some day." (ahem)

Although it did not get released until 2006, the song was written much earlier than that, around 1999 or 2000 when I was living in Hollywood.

I have a memory of sitting on the couch with a songwriter friend Johnny Scaglione showing it to him. He played that little melody on the guitar that I sing in the bridge, doo-doo-doo etc. I loved that little riff and have always just sung it... doo doo doo, etc.

(Originally released as "HUTCH" on the album "Just Another Folkin' Son of a Hutch" in 2006.)

lyrics

Some days are filled with sadness
And some days everything turns out bad

But the days we spent together
Are the best days I have ever had

Well I don't care about what kind of day it is,
I love you.
And it don't matter dear, what the weather is,
I love you.

Some guys have all the best things
And some girls are equally impressed

But there’s one thing my love clings to
It’s so simple that you might not have guessed,
She says,

“I don’t care about how much cash you’ve got,
I love you.”

And wind or rain or snow, all I know is
I love you, too.

Funny how some days make you feel so bad,
Another day, love’s okay, and you feel glad.

some days are filled with sadness
some days everything turns out bad

but the days we spend together
are the best days I have ever had

Well I don't care about what kind of day it is,
I love you.
And it don't matter dear, what the Weather Man says,
I love you.
