When Johnny Comes Marching Home

by Joe Normal (previously known as HUTCH)

/

about

Recorded in 2002 in the aftermath of 9-11 for a Patriotic TV episode of Food Nation with Chef Bobby Flay, I wrote original lyrics for "When Johnny Comes Marching Home" and played a Hendrix inspired arrangement with Thom Sullivan on drums (The Exies / Slow Motorcade) and Glenn Hays on bass (The Flesheaters / Hutchinsons).

We also tracked the driving, punk-ish classic "America (The Beautiful)" in the same session, a song which was written in Newark, New Jersey, practically down the block from where I grew up in Elizabethtown.
